Lakeland is Alberta's only commercial wild rice producer. The
particular quality of our local lakes provide the perfect
conditions for growing north America's only native cereal grain.
This high protein, low fat food is excellent in a variety of
recipes including salads, pancakes, omelet's, casseroles, soup
or simply as a side dish. Makes a great gift or souvenir.

The Athabasca Native Friendship Centre welcomes all community
members and visitors to stop by and check out their selection of
locally produced high quality arts and crafts. The centre serves
as retail outlet for moccasins, dreamcatchers, birch bark
baskets, in addition to have a large variety of traditional
supplies. Stop in at Riddle Used Store in the Trades Building
next door for a bargain on used goods and clothing. All proceeds
go towards supporting aboriginal services in the community.

Located conveniently at the corner of highways 663 and 63, Mr.
V's Field and Forest offers a up a variety of experiences.
Available for purchase are trees, shrubs, perennial garden
plants, and fully stocked gift and coffee shop. Starting mid
July something wonderful happens at Mr. V's - appearing daily,
almost by magic, are copious amounts of fresh mouth watering
fruit and vegetables. The strawberries, raspberries, saskatoons,
new potatoes, peas, and dill are all ready for your dining
delight. Owner /operator Bruno Wiskel has designed the building
for energy efficiency, with a centennial rose garden and
provides various workshops.
