Get off the beaten path, and take
a little trip on the road to adventure. Rochester, Perryvale and
Colinton are located along the old Athabasca Landing Trail. Now
a series of range roads and highways, this was once the main
route once taken by entrepreneurs and other adventurers beating
a path to Canada's great north.

information about the Town of Athabasca.
Athabasca - a Cree word
meaning "meeting place in the reeds" - was once believed to be
destined for glory as the provincial capital of Alberta. Those
hopes went up in smoke literally when the town burned twice,
once in 1912 and again in 1913. However, all of the qualities
that make this community special remain: its history, its
energy, its undeniable beauty. Today, Athabasca is a thriving
little community with a diverse economy and even more diverse
residents.
